Warming Up a Wholesome Home

Christine and her husband Joel moved here with their four children from out of state. They did everything right. They made sure their Section 8 Housing Choice voucher was transferred and approved in the state of Texas, and they had three rental properties lined up to move into once they got here. They just wanted to see the house before they signed their lease. Fast forward to when Christine and Joel arrived in Waco, TX. All three properties fell through and, within three weeks, all of their savings had been blown through with the cost of their hotel room, application fees for new places, and purchasing food. Christine reached out to Tri-Cities Ministries and thanks to the generous gifts from our donors, we were able to cover the costs of her final few rental applications, and get them into a home that passed the inspection the Waco Public Housing Authority conducted. Christine never lost hope throughout this process, even after landlord after landlord rejected their housing voucher, she did not quit.
